These crispy, golden-brown box patties are a popular Pakistani snack with a fun twist on the traditional samosa. Filled with a tasty mix of chicken and cheese, they’re coated in breadcrumbs and deep-fried until perfectly crispy. A savory treat for any occasion!
Heat 2 tablespoon of oil in a pan and fry the chicken. Season with salt, black pepper, and ginger garlic paste. Once the chicken turns white, add tomato ketchup, sriracha, and bbq sauce. Mix well.
Add bell peppers and olives to the mixture. Cook for 1 minute, then remove from heat and let the filling cool.
In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour with ¼ cup water to make a paste.
Lay two strips of samosa sheets in a + (plus) shape. Apply the flour paste where the strips meet in the center.
Add 2 tablespoon of the chicken filling and 1 tablespoon of cheese in the center. Fold one corner over the filling, brush with the paste, then fold the opposite corner on top, sealing the edges with more paste. Repeat until the samosa forms a square.
Dip the prepared patties into flour, then egg, and finally breadcrumbs. Set aside. You can freeze them for up to 2 months at this point.
Fry the patties on medium heat until golden and crispy. Alternatively, you can bake or air fry them.
