Zesty Jalapeno Beef Burger

Do you know one of the things that give me great joy? When I create a recipe on a whim and it comes out SO amazing. This beef patty was created on one such day, when I was craving for a luscious burger and I went around my kitchen experimenting with a few things and loved how everything came out in just the first attempt. Since then, I have made this burger multiple times. The juicy beef patty paired with a piquant burger sauce and finished off with tangy bites of jalapeno is so, so moreish.

Why go to McDonald's? Make this scrumptious burger at your home, from scratch with some easy ingredients. I serve this burger with some store-bought BBQ fries and my homemade garlic aioli (recipe coming soon).

Zesty Jalapeno Beef Burger

  • 250g minced beef
  • 3/4 tsp or to taste salt
  • 3/4 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2-3 tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 2 tbsp Tabasco sauce
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp grounded black pepper
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 burger buns
  • 2-4 cheese slices
  • pickled jalapenos
  • crispy fried onions
  • tomato slices
  • lettuce leaves

  1. Combine all the sauce ingredients together, mix well and keep aside.
  2. Toast your burger buns until they are golden from the inside.
  3. Combine all the ingredients of the beef patty together. Let everything sit together for 1-2 hours.
  4. Divide the mixture into two. Using hands, form the patties bigger than the diameter of your burger, because as they cook they will shrink and thicken.
  5. Grill or pan-fry each patty on medium heat till it is cooked through. Don't over cook or it will dry out.
  6. Put the patties on a separate plate and while they are steaming hot place 1-2 cheese slices on each patty. Let rest for 1-2 mins.
  7. Now for assembly. On the bottom bun add the lettuce, stack some thinly sliced tomato rounds, the beef patty along with cheese, slather with the sauce then top with some sliced pickled jalapenos and sprinkle crispy fried onions.
  8. Serve with fries and the remaining burger sauce.
