Cold brewed tea is perfect for outdoor garden parties. It can be prepared in advance and enjoyed in the hot, humid days or taken along for a picnic.

Mango is definitely one of my favorite summer fruits. I already have a recipe for Mini Mango Cakes which is super yum. But now this refreshing Mango Iced Tea will beat the heat this season.

Mango Tea might sound complicated but it is not. All you need is some brewed black tea and mango syrup. You can definitely get ready-made mango nectar but fresh is way better. Mix the two and your iced tea is ready! Easy-peasy right?!

How To Make Mango Iced Tea

This mango iced tea recipe is perfect for a hot day. Let's make it!

Step by step instructions of making mango syrup for iced tea.
  1. In a pan, add mangoes, sugar and water.
  2. Bring the water to a boil and then let simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
  3. Mash the mangoes with a spoon or a fork and leave this mixture aside to rest for around 30 minutes. Cover the pot.
  4. Then pass the mixture through a sieve to separate the pulp from the syrup.
Step by step instructions of getting mango syrup and brewing black tea.

Expert Tips

  • Use Ripe Mangoes – Ripe, fresh mangoes give the best natural sweetness and flavor. You can sub with mango puree, nectar or mango juice.
  • Choose the Right Tea – Black tea will give a bolder flavor, while green tea is lighter and more refreshing. Adjust based on your personal preference.
  • Brew Properly – Don’t over-steep the tea, or it may turn bitter. Stick to 3–5 minutes for black tea and 2–3 minutes for green tea.
  • Sweeten to Taste – Honey, simple syrup, or agave work well. Adjust the sweetness based on your mango’s ripeness.
  • Chill for Best Flavor – Let the tea cool before adding ice to prevent watering down. You can also refrigerate it for a few hours.
  • Add Citrus – A squeeze of lemon or lime balances the sweetness and brings out the flavors.
