Crispy Cajun Shrimp Tacos

Crunchy, spicy and fresh, these Cajun Shrimp Tacos will quickly become a family favourite! The cajun-seasoned shrimps are coated with panko crumbs and fried for a crispy finish. They are wrapped in a soft tortilla with fresh vegetables and a creamy, zesty dipping sauce. It's a fiesta in the mouth.

A quick and delicious hearty meal, that everyone in your family will enjoy. And if you don't prefer shrimps the same thing can be made with chicken too. These tacos are bursting with flavour and the layers of crispy shrimps, red onions, tomatoes, lettuce and coriander all smothered in a mayo-mustard-cajun dressing is just mind-boggling-ly scrumptious.


  • 200g shrimps (cleaned)
  • 1 tbsp cajun spice mix
  • 1 tsp sriracha sauce
  • 1-2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp water
  • oil - for frying
  • 1/2 cup panko crumbs
  • 1 tsp crushed black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tortillas
  • 1/2 red onion (sliced)
  • 1/2 tomato (sliced)
  • 3-4 lettuce leaves (sliced)
  • a few coriander leaves
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp mustard sauce
  • 1 tbsp chili garlic ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp cajun spice mix
  • 1 tsp vinegar


  1. Marinate the shrimps with cajun spice mix and sriracha sauce for a minimum of 30 minutes.
  2. Then add the all-purpose and water to it so that it becomes coated in thick batter.
  3. Mix together panko crumbs, crushed black pepper and oregano. Coat the shrimps with these breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat oil for deep or shallow frying. Fry the shrimps till they are golden and crunchy.
  5. Drain on a paper towel.
  6. Make the dip by mixing mayonnaise, mustard sauce, chili garlic ketchup, cajun spice mix and vinegar.
  7. Toast the tortillas on both sides.
  8. Start assembling the tacos by putting the shrimps, red onion, tomato, lettuce and coriander on the tortillas. In the end, drizzle some dipping sauce on it.
  9. Serve and enjoy!


  • If you don't eat shrimps, you can replace them with chunks of boneless chicken. Adjust the salt accordingly!
